We're up for the challenge. Are you?

The position

In this role you will be part of our Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Trading team and you will work alongside experienced traders, analysts and quants; adding value to Equinor's gas trading business.

By joining the LNG Trading Team within Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and maintain a network with other global trading support functions, such as Data Scientists, Asset Trade Analysts, Market Analysts, Meteorologists and Risk.
  • Closely collaborate with traders and market analysts to strengthen market intelligence and commercial knowledge.
  • Provide views about main market drivers: regional prices, seasonal effects, macro-economics, and geopolitics.
  • Interact daily with traders in the LNG Trading team to support in developing and testing trading strategies, opportunities and risks.
  • Liaise with and analyse data from consultants and news agencies.
  • Maintain and develop models to provide dynamic analysis of physical demand / supply balances and develop regular market reports, addressing topics of relevance for the trading desk.
  • Calculate differentials/premiums for relevant products and update curves and spreads, as well as run quantitative pricing analysis.
  • Assist in developing digital initiatives for cargo tracking, trade flow and pricing models.

You

Some qualities are essential for Equinor. You identify with our values, open, collaborative, courageous and caring, which guide our decisions and help us succeed and grow. You make safety your priority and contribute to our zero-harm culture.

  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Able to identify and understand gross market trends and emerging markets.
  • The ability to effectively develop and utilise models and tools in a commercial environment.
  • Experience with systems, databases and low code, no code (LCNC) development platforms - such as Power BI, Python and SQL.
  • Strong team player and customer-oriented: able to build good working relationships with various stakeholders and gain credibility among them.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject. Work experience may compensate for educational background.
  • It is required that this role is based in Stavanger; applicants will either need to be based locally or be willing to relocate.

Please note that the main interviews for this position are expected to take place in early/mid January.
